At Grown in Haiti, education is rooted in experience. We learn by doing, teach by sharing, and grow by regenerating—together.

Training with Our Hands in the Soil

Education here doesn’t happen in classrooms—it happens under the sun, in the rain, besides the trees we plant and the gardens we restore. Our community training includes:

  • Learn by doing
    We host seasonal workshops focused on regenerative agriculture, from soil restoration and natural mulching to tree planting and erosion control. Each session is grounded in real-life application using local tools and resources.

  • Personalized support for local land stewards
    We work directly with farmers and growers to help them restore their land using regenerative techniques. Each mentorship is tailored to the individual’s land, needs, and goals—offering guidance rooted in lived experience, not theory.

  • Connecting generations through skill sharing
    Our youth programs emphasize learning from elders, local land stewards, and each other. We create space for young people to participate in food production, seed saving, and traditional land-based practices, building confidence and connection.

  • Building leadership from within the community
    Groups of trained farmers are supported to lead localized training efforts in their neighborhoods. These committees foster peer-to-peer learning, strengthen neighborhood resilience, and expand the reach of regenerative practices.

Learning from the Land, Not Just About It

We use what’s around us—local materials, native species, traditional wisdom—to teach methods that are relevant, sustainable, and regenerative. Whether it’s rebuilding soil with weeds, planting in cycles, or observing the rains, every technique is shaped by our environment.

We believe that knowledge should serve the people and the land, not the other way around.

A Home for Shared Learning

As our work expands, so does our dream: a dedicated Community Learning Center, where neighbors, teachers, and visiting practitioners can come together to share deeper knowledge and hands-on experiences.

This space will host workshops on topics like:

  • Mycology & soil fungi

  • Post-harvest food processing

  • Using natural fibers

  • Seed-to-table cooking & nutrition

  • Sustainable construction and design

  • And much more

It will be a home for shared knowledge—one that grows with each person who passed through.
